The Covid-19 Pandemic Period has been a challenging time of uncertainty for us all. We are governed by the Ministry of Children Community & Social Services (MCCSS) which has issued over 10 directives to service agencies over the Pandemic. We are obligated to follow O. Reg 121/20 and O. Reg 177/20 & all guidance, advice or recommendations from the Chief Medical Officer of Health & Ministry of Health on the public health measures that apply to congregate living settings. We have consulted our lawyer regarding a Covid-19 policy, disclosure of vaccination status and possible mandatory vaccination. At this time the Agency maintains their position that it is not mandatory to be vaccinated but it is strongly encouraged. A fight is a very steep uphill battle that may be simply insurmountable & success is extremely minimal, while the financial cost is anything but minimal to members both financially & personally. It is only through our continued commitment to quality service, compassion & safety that we will see our way through to a better future full of hope and opportunity.
